The Forge Reopening - Gods Unchained

This article is a translation from the article published by on the official Gods Unchained blog on November 30, 2021. You can check the original post for updates: "The Forge reopens" .

The day has finally arrived, mortals. The Forge is back to work in all the beauty and splendor of the Play to Earn ! And the best news? We've integrated the Forge with Immutable X, which means there's no more nasty gas fees to pay. Are you ready to dig into the details? So, let's go!

What is the Forge?

Ah, the most important question: what is the Forge? For the uninitiated, here's a quick recap: as you rank up in Gods Unchained by playing matches, players are rewarded with Core Collection packs. Sometimes you'll realize that you've gotten one, two, or even four of the same basic card and you'll think "what's the use of this?" That's where the Forge comes in. Once a player gathers enough copies of a basic card, they can fuse those cards into an evolved version that can be sold. To do this, that mortal will have to get their hands dirty in The Forge, spending a combination of Flux and $GODS to fuse these cards into an upgraded version (Meteorite). This enhancement adds the asset to the blockchain, thus creating a card with real-world value that can be traded.

What's new in The Forge this time?

In the past, merging cards in The Forge only required Flux. With the introduction of the $GODS token, the team saw an opportunity to bolster the fundamental structure of Gods Unchained's economy through the merge. The pattern we've seen afflict other p2e games is an economy that starts out strong, but wanes in strength over time as the market is flooded with tokens (such as Flux) that can be won infinitely. Our goal with the introduction of $GODS tokens in the merger process is to ensuring Gods Unchained's economy remains healthy and beneficial for all involved.

By introducing $GODS as an additional requirement for the merger process, there are Various positive effects . The first is that the token's utility comes true: to feed the appetite of a growing player base on the lookout for ways to play and win, $GODS will be used. This will have an impact on market demand, as there are a finite number of Gods Unchained assets available. By giving players the power to affect that supply by creating entirely new assets, this means that new players who arrive will be able to participate in the Gods Unchained ecosystem more broadly, thus generating more demand for the assets already owned by existing players. The second is that the $GODS used in the merge process are sent to the staking reward pool, as explained in our whitepaper. Simply put, the more cards that merge, the better for the ecosystem as a whole.

How much does it cost to merge my cards?

The Costs associated with the fusion of basic cards in Meteorite versions are as follows: (NOTE: this is subject to change as the team takes into account other factors to ensure a healthy economy for the game.)

  • To merge a basic card "Common" , you'll need 0.1 $GODS + 20 Flux.
  • To merge a basic card "Weird" , you'll need 0.3 $GODS + 40 Flux.
  • To merge a basic card "Epic" , you'll need 0.7 $GODS + 120 Flux.
  • And to merge a basic card "Legendary" , you'll need 1.5 $GODS + 200 Flux.

For Identify Rarity of your card, notice the colored crystals on either side of the card's nameplate:

  • Grey: Common card.
  • Pale Blue: A Rare card.
  • Purple: An epic card.
  • Gold: means that the gods must look good on you, mortal, because you have obtained a legendary card.

Will we receive $GODS at Flux based on our Flux balance?

Yes. We have taken the decision to introduce new costs in the merger process. We took a snapshot of all players' Flux balances on 2021-10-26 12:03:15pm PDT, so we can giving players similar access to the Fusion at the beginning of the Forge reopening that they would have if we hadn't introduced the additional cost of $GODS . Based on the associated calculations in relation to a similar access, we land at 0.0054 $GODS/Flux cumulative. Over the next two weeks, we'll distribute the corresponding amounts of $GODS to each player, based on their Flux balance at the time of the snapshot.

How do you merge a card?

Now we get to the fun part, mortals!

Step 1: To fuse basic cards into a unique Meteorite version of that card, you'll need to have two units of that base card. You can get duplicates by playing the game, earning Core packs, and opening them in the Temple.

Step 2: Do you already have two Shadow Scryers? Go to the "Forge" tab in the launcher or on the Gods Unchained website. You'll be directed to a screen with a bunch of cards on the left and a stylish circle on the right.

Step 3: It's important that you choose the wallet you want to mint your new NFT with. Click on the drop-down menu to select the wallet of your choice.
Note: Remember this wallet, because you will have to use it again later. If you don't know how to link a wallet to your Gods Unchained account and your Immutable X account, follow the process to link your account to the wallet.

Step 4: Next, choose the two lucky cards that you are going to merge. Click on the image of the Shadow Scriers you'd like to merge, then you'll be able to see how many copies you have of that card. Select two of them.

Step 5: If you have your cards selected and a proper balance of Flux and $GODS, you'll see that the "Start Merging" button is now bright and clickable.

Step 6: Press the button! A final confirmation window will appear for you to confirm your willingness to move forward, and then you'll be on your way. Note: By continuing with this step and accepting, your Flux and cards will be used to fuse your new NFT .

Step 7: You'll then be taken to a website hosted by Immutable X, to confirm the minting process for your brand-new NFT. This will involve a signature through Immutable X and Metamask. Note: Make sure that the wallet address you selected on the Forge screen at the beginning of this process matches the wallet linked in the Immutable X window, or else the merge will not work. Note #2: If you deny the signature and/or click outside the pop-up window, your transaction will be stopped. Return to the Forge History section to try again.

Step 8: The hard work is done! From here, your newly minted card should appear shortly, both on your "Collection" screen in the client and in your inventory in Immutable X.

If you want to consult the History of your trades merge button, there's also a button for it. In the "Forge" tab of the launcher, you'll see a small tab called "History." Click on it to see the details of your last 60 merge operations. You will be able to see the time, status, card ID, name of the merged card, cost (in Flux / $GODS) and the wallet in which the card was minted.
