The Sanctum is one of the most distinctive elements of Gods Unchained , don't you think? This is a unique resource that, in exchange for Favor, allows players to access relevant cards. If you are a regular player, you already know this because this is not new; However, the renewal of the cards that make up its different decks is.
I'm JFA, promoter of GU Masters, and I encourage you to familiarize yourself with the new Sanctum , as any such change has a profound impact on the meta.
What is the reason for this renewal of the Santum?
What is the reason for these changes? The truth is that there are at least three Reasons :
- The Sanctum can play a key role in cementing the advantage of the player who starts the game first. As this is not desirable, the disappearance of cards like Rune of Fire and the inclusion of cards like Imperious Smite aims to moderate it, trying to reduce the "snowball" effect , to the extent possible.
- The following are added Answers for some fundamental mechanics (I'm thinking, above all, of Gleamweaver).
- As we have a new expansion in sight: Tides of Fate. One of the particularities of this expansion is that it pursues Enhance the synergies of each domain , so that explains the addition of cards like The Trial Begins.
With never-before-seen cards, rotated, and changes to costs and abilities, this new iteration of the Sanctum It's a breath of fresh air .
Sanctum Decks
Before we take a look at the full list of cards available in the revamped Sanctum, let's start with a few Previous notes :
- This version of the Sanctum is composed of Five decks .
- Not all cards have the same cost in Favor ( More powerful cards have a higher cost ).
- All decks feature the Same number of cards (four).
And having clarified the above... Let's now review deck by deck (You can open the image in another browser tab or download it to view it at a larger size.)

- Valka's Discovery (Favor Cost: 17).- Another basic card in the Sanctum, with the potential to make a difference due to its ability to nullify powerful effects.
Valor Deck
Looking for extra value? Here are options:
- Ambitious Adventurer (Favor Cost: 15).- A creature that allows you to draw a card from your deck. Always useful.
- Lootable Corpse (Favor Cost: 10).- Anubian that allows you to draw a card from your deck as an effect Afterlife .

- The Trial Begins (Favor Cost: 17).- This "Tutor" allows you to find and steal the creature you want from your deck, as long as it is a creature of your domain. Powerful effect, without a doubt.
What do you think of this new composition of the Sanctum decks?
Should we expect deeper changes in the future? You can rest assured, the Gos Unchained team has already confirmed that they have substantial modifications in mind... but it will not be in the short term. For now, enjoy the current version of Sanctum, as it brings a healthy variety of cards with impact. Whatever your playstyle and whatever time of the game you find yourself in, the Sanctum will always have options for you. That's why it's so important to master how it works.
