Band of the Wolf Must-Have Cards

29/06/2023 by JFA

The cards that belong to the Gods Unchained Band of the Wolf mini-expansion are immutable since June 21, 2023. As a result, all players can add these cards to their collection with the peace of mind of knowing that they will not be modified. The number of Band of the Wolf cards in circulation is moderate (at least compared to other expansions), so I invite you to discover the most attractive ones (i.e. which are the most attractive ones). Best Band of the Wolf Cards ). This is my personal selection, I hope you find it useful.

I'm JFA from GU Masters, and I believe that as long as Gods Unchained is consolidated, these cards will have a good chance of being a good idea. Revaluation potential in the future. The passage of time, as always, will clear up our doubts.

In this selection of cards You will find a "Top Three" for each god , as well as some additional suggestions.

What criteria does it make sense to apply to determine which cards are better?

Good question. The criteria To consider when preparing a selection of this nature are diverse, but I highlight some of the main ones below:

  • Is it really Powerful ? Ultimately, this is what makes the difference.
  • ¿Is versatile ? That is, can you incorporate it into decks of different archetypes?
  • To what extent is it unique ? Is it difficult to find a replacement?
  • ¿Is efficient ? For this, the most common thing is to take into consideration the quotient between its cost in manna and its statistical value.
  • What is the potential for them to emerge Synergies with cards from other expansions?
  • Etc.

Finally, we cannot ignore, as is evident, personal bias (in this case, mine, obviously). We all have our preferences and that is why it is virtually impossible for two different players to share 100% of the choices of a list of this type. Of course, you can be sure that The cards that you will find below are a good option .

Top three Band of the Wolf cards for each god

If you find this list as useful as I hope, remember that you can support GU Masters by purchasing your cards through the links included in this article (During the 24 hours following your click, a small commission is generated for the purchases made, which, as is obvious, has no cost for you). Without further ado, let's get started.

Top three Neutral cards in Band of the Wolf

Neutral cards are always especially attractive because they act as "jokers": can be incorporated into any deck , since they are not ascribed to any particular god.

Hortuk, Fallen Commander There is no doubt that Hortuk is one of the most powerful cards in Band of the Wolf (not to say the most powerful). It is one of the two Chase cards of this mini-expansion (along with Eiko) and its versatility makes it fit like a glove in very different decks. For one, it's perfect as the "icing on the cake" in any deck Midrange ; on the other hand, it does well in the job of stabilizing the game when 7 mana is unlocked, something that Control decks crave. Twenty-two stats on the board (damage/health), distributed between Hortuk himself and two Fallen Legions, with the flexibility of being able to choose how they are distributed Keywords as powerful as Blitz, Frontline , Protected and Leech . No joke.

Eiko - Young Eiko is the other Chase card by Band of the Wolf (with Hortuk) and also stands out for its flexibility. To begin with, it is a letter Tech with the virtue of destroying any relic for four mana, but also its potential to generate infinite value thanks to its ability (as long as your opponent does not annihilate it will inflict five points of damage per turn). Unless you're playing a deck based on tribal or domain synergies, with its 5/2 stats and Protected It's a safe bet.

Ember-Oni .- Everything points to the fact that this demonic creature was born with the aim of becoming an alternative budget-friendly to one of the most feared cards in the game, the iconic Demogorgon. Why? Because its function is exactly the same, control the board as soon as 7 mana is unlocked. How does it achieve this goal? Putting on the board ten stats (5 damage / 5 health) for practical purposes, since his initial health amounts to seven points but punishes all creatures on the board, including himself, with Burn +2. However, what makes it scarier is that, in addition to the above, it deals two points of damage with Leech ! all the creatures that are on the board. Oh, and with the tribal synergies of being a Nether . Essential card for playing Control archetypes on moderate budgets.

I am going to highlight two other cards of interest, such as Blood Oath Binder ( Olympian ) and Shalfire Hatchling ( Dragon ), so you don't lose sight of them.

Top three Death cards in Band of the Wolf

Bitter Endings .- Here you have one of those cards designed to enable Combos. In a domain with Mana ramp abundant, large doses of healing, options to "sleep" the game and ability to regenerate mana, is not something trivial. And in fact, not only does it make a high-demand Combo deck possible on its own, but it also holds enormous future potential. It is not a menu suitable for all audiences, but if you are looking for strong emotions, you will not want to give it up.

Chira Here is a Nether endearing (as strange as it may seem) with the ability to decide a game for herself (well, with the assistance of others Nethers , to be exact). Playing against Aggro, he can allow you to clear the board in a single turn (and the "party" will continue if your opponent doesn't have the resources to get rid of it, which is not entirely trivial thanks to his Backline ); Playing against Control, it can wipe out any large creature in a breath. You're going to take damage in large doses, it's true, but in decks with healing galore, like Zombies decks, it's brutal for only three mana.

Perseverance .- We are facing a spell that could go unnoticed, but do not fool yourself, it is more powerful than it seems at first glance. It is especially useful against Aggro, as consuming four mana allows you to deal three damage healing yourself for three, while generating three 1/1 Zombies that your opponent will have to deal with as well. If you make room for it in the right deck, you'll never regret it.

Top two Deception cards in Band of the Wolf

Range Gama is a Legendary creature with good stats per four mana (4/5), hidden and enjoying tribal synergies like Nether. All of the above is not bad at all, but its main charm lies in its ability to draw cards from the Void of your rival. This ability will shine as soon as it has more support, but it's a solid card in archetypes like Hidden Rush Deception.

Shrike Moonlighter - Nether (3/3) three-cost with effect Ally which means that if you have this creature on the board and you play another one Nether , you draw a card from the Void of your adversary.

All the cards in this domain in Band of the Wolf (think Dark Deliverance or Spore-Light Lantern, for example) revolve around mechanics Void Steal and only the passage of time will reveal its real impact on the metagame .

Top three Light cards in Band of the Wolf

Raneko Hearthmother For just two mana, Olympian 2/2 with effect Ally "Make the damage of a Olympian ally is equal to his health." This card gives consistency to the decks of Olympian Light almost by itself, which is saying a lot. If you have in mind to play this archetype, buy essential.

Aegis of the Innocent Are you looking for a powerful and adaptable relic? What can you add to both Aggro and Control decks? That it has an impact on how much is played and that, in addition, provides infinite value as long as your opponent cannot destroy it? Don't suffer any longer, you've found what you've been looking for, though it will shine brightly in decks of Olympians . In exchange for consuming five mana, when you play it it will grant +3 health to an allied Olympian and match its damage with its health. From there, whenever any allied character (i.e., both your god and creatures) takes damage, it will heal them for one. Crazy? Yes. Available? Also. Getting the most out of it is up to you.

Master of the Mill - Five-cost Olympian with 4/5 stats, which might seem a bit poor if it weren't for the fact that his "battle cry" grants +3 health to a Olympian ally. So far, so good, but that's not all. Has an effect Ally , so each allied Olympian you play will receive +3 Health. A stat binge with the ability to revolutionize any deck in this Olympian tribal synergy-based domain.

More cards to watch closely? Argus, the White Wall, (Olympian) and Camaraderie (spell with a huge future potential).

Top Three Magic Cards in Band of the Wolf

Arcane Fabrication A two-cost spell that adds two 1/1 copies of an allied creature to your hand. Doesn't that sound very appealing? What if you combine it with structures like Divine Coronet or Fortified Acropolis? I say no more...

Elder Strix Mystic with stats that are only weak for a card with a cost of four mana (2/2), but with a high effect Roar tremendous: invoking a copy of a Structure that is in your Void. Powerful, right?

Automabunn - Cost one structure with 2/2 stats and an effect Ally That Should Never Be Ignored: Provide Armor +1 to any Structure ally you invoke. And that +1 means it's cumulative, yes, so that a small army of Automabunns can transform each of the Structures that you summon in something very difficult to kill.

Top three Nature cards in Band of the Wolf

Divya, The Deadly Serenade This 5-cost, 4/5-stat creature is a substantial boost to any Aggro deck. Amazons , since while it is on the board your Amazons deal damage, that target will take two additional damage. It is a Finisher and, to draw a parallel, we could compare him to a bewitching Arkmonian Onslaught... but on steroids.

Poison Dart .- This chart fills an existing gap, since Nature does not have much Hard removal (and even less so that it is not random and therefore allows you to choose the desired objective). It is still far from having effects such as Destroy or Obliterate , but Nature will know how to make good use of this tool. Sure.

Great Eye's Blessing Do you tend to run out of cards in your hand? As long as you control the board with your creatures, this 5-cost spell will allow you to refill your hand without having to sacrifice too much tempo (since you'll recharge one mana for each card you generate.) In the right circumstances it can be decisive.

Top three War cards in Band of the Wolf

Reios, The Old Wolf Band of the Wolf has significantly reinforced the Olympian War archetype and this veteran mercenary is the spearhead in this endeavor. Olympian (of course) with a cost of 5, has 4/5 stats and a blitz. What's really important, though, is that every time it attacks and destroys a creature, it will assign its damage and health to a random Olympian in your hand.

Village Vendor This creature with two costs and 2/2 stats carries the Olympian War archetype, along with Wolf Recruits. And it achieves this thanks to its effect Ally , which grants every time +1/+1 is activated to all Olympians in your hand. Hand buff to the fullest.

Wolf Recruits .- As I have told you when talking about Village Vendor, this spell is an essential piece of any Olympian War deck. For three mana it allows you to draw one creature, but if it's an Olympian you'll draw another one (and each of them will receive +1/+1).

This mini-expansion has brought additional tools to Olympian War, including such attractive cards as Ashen Child and Retribution.
