New expansion: Spoils of War

Here are A different kind of expansion . Not because of the number of cards that make it up or its characteristics, but because of its way of distribution, the way it has been released and its adaptability to the metagame. The main thing: this time we will not be able to get these cards by buying packs, but through Battle Passes (starting with Season 13).

Key features

This expansion begins with a First 18-card barrage , of different rarities and all of them assigned to different domains (there are no neutral cards). I would dare to say that, in general, these are new pieces to reinforce different archetypes that are taking shape little by little. The expansion will continue to grow over time, so we may find new groups of cards in future Battle Passes.

Unlike other expansions, where cards become immutable after a predetermined period of time has elapsed since their release, with Spoils of War there is no defined period for them to undergo modifications . Until further notice, these cards are subject to discretionary changes by the Gods Unchained team. Good for the meta, but dangerous for bets on powerful cards (especially in high exchanges).

How to achieve this expansion?

Taking Season 13 of the Battle Pass as a reference, we will find Spoils of War cards in two types of packs, each of them with three "slots": Spoils Packs and Whale Battle Packs . Of course, the number of cards that we can get will vary substantially depending on the "path" chosen... as expected, the Whale is much more generous than the Collector:

• Collector Track: inclusions 5 Spoils Packs . An appetizer to learn about the expansion, but in no case enough to complete it.
• Whale Track: Here we enter another league. Includes 30 Spoils Packs and, in addition, the exclusive Whale Battle Packs .

Important: in none of those packs is it guaranteed that Spoils of War cards will come out , there is only the possibility that they will. Most of the cards will be from the Core set, since only the third slot of each pack can include Spoils of War cards, with the highest probabilities being for Whale Battle Packs (for more details, I recommend consulting the Battle Pass 13 announcement and the spreadsheet with the details of the card distribution by pack type ).

How to choose a route?

• The Collector track It's for you if you prefer to minimize the outlay and are not in a hurry to complete this expansion (and, therefore, you don't mind waiting or gradually buying the cards that interest you the most on the secondary market).
• The Whale Track You'll be interested if you want to gather these cards as soon as possible, get them in higher qualities, or try to take advantage of the initial shortage to maximize sales revenue on the secondary market.

The Race for Scarcity (and the Jackpot)

As we have mentioned, the expansion starts with 18 cards , but it will grow in future seasons. What does this mean for your pocket? Well, the moment of greatest rarity of these first 18 cards will be Right now . As the seasons go by and more people complete their passes, there will be more copies in circulation.
