Imporium: new store, new economy

Hello, mortal! I'm JFA, the architect of GU Masters, and today we're going to tackle an initiative that has been underway for a few months now. Now, with some experience, the time has come for us to talk about the Imporium .

What is Imporium?

The Imporium, which was released in September 2025, is the new store within the game that, to date, works under a very simple (and somewhat addictive) premise: An exclusive card every week . Thus, every Tuesday a card goes on sale that you can only get there (for now, from the expansion Revival , first expansion "Imporium Exclusive"), always with rarity higher than Common.

A detail that we should not overlook is the structure of this release. The Imporium is not a passing event, but the official distribution channel for the Revival expansion which consists of 52 cards in total. This means we have a whole year of novelties ahead of us, at a rate of one new card every Tuesday. For us, this implies that completing the expansion requires consistency: if you skip a week, that gap in your collection will be difficult (and probably expensive) to fill. There is no limit to the number of cards that will be "minted", players can buy as many as they want as long as they are available, but one by one (there is no option to buy multiple units in a single transaction). We must use the wallet we have configured by default (whether it is Immutable Passport, MetaMask or another).

It is only possible to use $GODS for these purchases, selecting the quality you prefer (from Meteorite to Diamond). Seven days to make a decision, knowing that if any of those cards become available again in the future, which may not happen, it will only be in Meteorite quality and at a higher price . You have seven days to decide... Once that deadline expires, there is no going back.

Goodbye to the Star Store: what about the Stars?

The launch of the Imporium ( "Welcome to te Imporium" ) came accompanied by the withdrawal from the Star Store . As a result, all of those Stars that we continue to accumulate when playing have become useless.

It is a Paradigm shift . Before, the Stars were, in a way, a refuge for the player free-to-play , which could be done with cards from the Welcome or Core set. This move gives extra utility to $GODS, but surely there is more than one player frustrated to see the Stars counter going up without being able to spend it on anything... at least for now.

Is Imporium good news?

From my point of view, the Imporium is a step forward. Let's review some of his Strengths :

For us players:

1. New content every week: This means that we have one more incentive to access the game and see what's new every seven days.
2. Fresher Meta : Sometimes the introduction of a new card is enough to alter the metagame. That dynamism, in my opinion, helps to keep the game alive.
3. Accessible exclusivity: Being able to directly buy a card that is called to retain a considerable degree of rarity is a luxury.
4. Short-term goals: It gives us a weekly goal... and having goals helps keep you interested.
5. Hardened staking: all sources of income add up to the strike (and, in this case, without the need to make currency swaps, since the team receives $GODS directly).

For the GU team:

1. New Revenue Stream: The development of a video game is expensive, as is evident, so any source of income that involves diversification is welcome.
2. Alternative channel for content distribution: Some time ago we analyzed the possibility that marketing letters through envelopes would no longer be an option in some jurisdictions ( "Goodbye to booster packs in Gods Unchained?" ). Therefore, having additional own channels for distribution is always positive.
3. Extra utility for the token: contributes to the recirculation of $GODS in the ecosystem (instead of going straight to a exchange to be sold).
4. Resource optimization: By releasing the expansion little by little, developers can dedicate efforts to other areas while keeping the game updated.

Impact on the economy and future potential

Did you know that I wear a Record of the cards that have been released in the Imporium from day one? It is certainly interesting information and, "for example, a button": here is A handful of fun facts :

• In 2025, 16 different cards from the Revival expansion were released, with an average of sales that has generated more than 18,000 $GODS for each one for the team (including all qualities and already discounting the percentage of sales that is staking).
• As the price of $GODS goes down, the prices of the cards go up. Comparing two cards in Meteorite quality of the same rarity ( Rare ), Compulsive Librarian was released in September 2025 for 8 $GODS while Pack Alpha was released in March 2026 for 31 $GODS.
• There are only 6 Diamond quality copies of Burning Enlightment and Great Wyrm Soil Tiller.
• Etc.

In addition, the Potential for Evolution is considerable. Perhaps we could find some of this in the future?

• Welcome Set card sale returns.
• Meteorite quality reprints of cards from exclusive Imporium expansions.
• Exclusive cosmetic items (both Trinkets as boards).
• Tickets for special events.
• Cards with alternative art.
• Etc.

In conclusion...

Although the question of the usefulness of the Stars has remained in the air, Imporium gives a new dimension to the gaming economy . It is a "clean" and direct system that opens up endless possibilities. And you, what do you think of this change? Right or wrong?
