What is your personal balance of 2022 in Gods Unchained?

As in 2021, I believe that it is worth taking stock of what happened in the year that has just ended. I'm JFA, from GU Masters, and I invite you to join me in this analysis exercise... I aspire to inspire you to make yours. It is a magnificent way to measure objectives achieved, detect deviations from the proposed objectives and identify areas for improvement .

Sports results

Let's start by looking at what happened from the perspective of Gods Unchained as "Esports" (i.e., e-Sport ) during 2022. The truth is that they have been celebrated, with greater or lesser success, Countless tournaments , mainly thanks to the initiative of the community and enjoying, to a large extent, the support of Immutable as a sponsor of the prize pools.

My initial intention was to participate in more tournaments than I have been able to . My activity as a member of the Council of Mortals has prevented me from being more involved in this area, but I will return to this later... in any case, I managed to sneak into the top 32 of the Battle for the Light EMEA tournament, as well as sneak into the top 16 of the Gods Unchained Hispano and jrok96's Deckbuilding Challenge #2 tournaments.

Economic results

In a Play & Earn game like Gods Unchained, it makes perfect sense not to just measure sports results, but also the Economic . And progress in 2022 has been significant, with the Daily P&E launch , proto-staking through Offering of the $GODS and the Quality Card Forging shiny . There are still pending issues, of course, such as the need to give greater value to the cards of higher quality and rarity, to give an example, but the important thing is that the game continues to grow and improve.

Last but not least in a TCG, we have all the rewards distributed in the form of cards, on and off chain . In fact The cards deserve their own section . Do we see it?

Card Collection

To date, the Welcome Set and the Core Set , with cards that can always be modified by the Immutable team and that we can all get by playing, without making any outlay.

To date, the following have been published: Expansions (not counting "promos" such as Etherbots):

As you know Each player has different goals . When it comes to your access to Gods Unchained cards, your goal may be to expand your collection without investing any money, or you may have three or four competitive decks to try to maximize rewards. In my case, I aspire to make my collection as complete as possible and 2022 has marked a before and after, as I have achieved all the complete expansions (Genesis, Trial of the Gods, Divine Order and Mortal Judgement, as well as Light's Verdict and, shortly, Winter Wanderlands). I would like to continue like this in the future, time will tell.

Gods Unchained Community and "Ecosystem"

It is impossible to overlook that 2022 has been a turbulent year for the Immutable team, as there have been important changes in its composition (both in terms of departures and additions). The gaming community has stabilized and it is difficult to venture whether web3 games will achieve mass adoption in the middle of the "crypto winter". But, although it may seem unbelievable to veterans, the reality is that all this is still in the most incipient phases of its development and making predictions is very complicated. At the moment, it seems that Gods Unchained continues to consolidate , which is no small thing.

I must emphasize that a representative body of the players is operational: the Council of Mortals . Its first renewal will take place this month and I have had the honour of being part of its first term. My approach for 2023 will depend on whether I am re-elected for a second term, as being part of the Council requires a time commitment that entails other resignations (such as playing more tournaments).

My pace of publishing content on GU Masters has slowed down, at least compared to 2021, but I'm streaming live regularly. After almost a year, I'm thrilled with the community of advanced players with whom I share my adventures in Gods Uchained. Thank you all. What are your goals in Gods Unchained for 2023?

As I explained at the beginning, setting goals and measuring their degree of compliance is essential to improve (my recommendation is that they are goals SMART ). Consequently... What are your goals for 2023?

In my case , and taking as a starting point that I play Gods Unchained for fun, I aspire to the following.

Sports results

On a sporting level, my intention is to Compete in the most important official and unofficial tournaments , with the main objective of improving my level as a player.

Economic results

He said last year that "my strategy is HODL , that is, to maintain. Why? Because I believe that the potential of the game is enormous and that, therefore, all its assets are going to appreciate in value over time." The year 2022 has been a rough year for the crypto world, including the bursting of the NFT bubble, a major purge of assets (such as LUNA) and operators in the market (such as FTX), not to mention all this is framed in an unfavorable global economic situation. Gods Unchained's asset prices are at rock bottoms, and that's precisely what made it easier for me to complete my card collection. Time will tell if it has been a wise decision.

I want to get a complete collection of each new expansion (By "complete collection" I mean one copy of each Legendary card and two copies of cards with other rarities.) Let's see what surprises 2023 has in store for us in this area.

Gods Unchained Community and "Ecosystem"

I think I can safely say that I'm an active member of the gaming community (I guess that's been one of the keys to my choice for the game). Council of Mortals ). In 2023 I will try to maintain the same line, as far as possible, trying to contribute to the development of a healthy community, in which we all feel welcome and that it fosters our growth as players (and, for that matter, as people).
