What would you ask a CoM candidate?

If you are an active player of Gods Unchained, you are entitled to elect your representatives to the Council of Mortals. Logically, to make an informed decision you need to first assess the degree of suitability of the different candidates . Are you clear about what you would ask them? It is possible that it does, it is possible that it does not.

I am JFA, promoter of GU Masters, and, after being part of this advisory body during its first two terms, I'll tell you what I would ask them .

Key aspects to assess the suitability of a candidate for the Council of Mortals of Gods Unchained

In line with the launch of the Council of Mortals, in July 2022 I published an extensive article about this body: "Council of Mortals: First Steps" . Its section "What can we expect from the Council or Mortals?" includes a sub-section entitled "Criteria to be taken into consideration for the election of its members", which I recommend. However, today I am going to focus on the three aspects that seem essential to me . It is enough to dedicate a question to each of them to achieve the objective set.

Question 1

Let's go with the First question :

"What are the main challenges of the game (and its ecosystem) in the medium term and what priorities should the Gods Unchained team have?"

The goal of this question is to delve deeper into the candidate's vision of the future of the game and what its players want. It is ultimately a question of determining what their knowledge about the Gods Unchained universe , in its broadest sense, because it is not enough to have a more or less advanced level as a player. Thus, it is desirable that it dominates aspects such as its economy, its competitive scene, the idiosyncrasies of its players, etc. It is also desirable to know their opinion on the most controversial or sensitive issues.

Question 2

It is the turn of the Second question :

"Considering that the CoM is an advisory body that aims to give players a voice, what do you have in mind to identify their needs, demands and expectations?"

This question is intended to confirm the Candidate's intention to engage with the community . More than anything, because it is impossible to know the aspirations of the players without interacting with them enough. How? I would highlight the importance of monitoring the activity of the official Gods Unchained server on Discord, with special attention to channels such as #feedback or #Balance, or the activity on Reddit. Live broadcasts are also interesting but, in my opinion, they do not allow you to go deeper in the same way.

What is clear is that a member of the CoM must be willing to engage with players in order to identify areas for improvement and proposals , which will need to move the Gods Unchained team constructively and efficiently.

Question 3

To conclude, Third question :

"How much time and energy are you willing to devote to CoM-related activities?"

Naturally, the purpose of this question is to find out how much time the candidate is willing to devote to the tasks of the CoM. If the answer is "I am only willing to attend the monthly meeting", he will not have my support because I know that a real involvement in the activity of the CoM requires much more time than the 60 minutes of the aforementioned monthly meeting .
